Smoked Out Bastard
Our smoked porter is a
bastardized version of a German rauchbier. This ale retained a good bit of its
smoked attributes and it shows in the
first sip. I describe this beer as walking through a cloud of barbecue smoke to
eat a piece of candy. Cherry wood smoke
hits the palate and is almost immediately and completely replaced by rich
caramel malts. The beer finishes clean with not lingering tastes.
If I could change anything it
would be the lack of lingering aftertaste.
A reminder of the smoke at the end would be perfect. Any ideas?
